Amber Lost

Amber, shining Amber, I never called her 'home'
And never cared I overmuch for whom sat on her throne.
I thought they all were petty, yet I rose, her to defend
And tears tastes bitter on my tongue when I see the City's end.

Amber of the Shadows, who saw the world be born,
She shouldn't have to end like this, by sword and magic torn.
The Castle is on fire, and the City's fallen too,
And my sword is idle in my hands, there's nothing left to do.

Amber, loved by thousands, falls deep beyond the Sea
The waves will quench the fire, as the City ceases to be,
The world has ended now and yet, it feels just like a dream.
It's dark now, and the stars do shine, at the dying of a queen.

Amber, shining Amber, in my heart she'll ever be
A mystic fire, polished mail, and shining cavallery,
And swords who ring in crossing, and duels on the hill
Amber, shining Amber, in my heart I love her still.
